Description

Nos 83 and 85 East Borough are probably of 17th century origin and were refaced in the 18th century. The buildings have brick walls, thatched roofs, and brick stacks, and they are one storey with attics. No 83 features colourwashed walls and has a central entrance with a plain modern oak ledged door. The ground floor includes two casement windows with lead lights, which appear to be modern replacements. The attic has two dormers with casements and lead lights. No 85 has a central entrance with a flush panel four-panel door set in a simple classical surround, topped with a flat hood on shaped brackets. This building also has two casement windows with lead lights and three dormers with casements and lead lights in the attic. There is a lean-to extension to the north and one original open fireplace. Together, these buildings form an attractive group.
