Description
Walford Mill, constructed around 1800, is a former corn mill located on Knobcrook Lane. The building features brick walls and a tiled roof with a slate eaves course. It stands three storeys high with attics and has a tall square brick chimney on the west side, likely added when the original water wheel was replaced by later machinery. Most of the windows and doors are modern but are set in the original openings. The building has been extended to the north in the late 19th to early 20th century. Internally, much of the original structure remains, although all machinery has been removed. The wheel pit is still present, with the mill leat running underneath the building.
