Description

Nos 14 and 16 on Horse Street are 17th century buildings with a roughcast render exterior and a Double Roman tile roof, featuring brick stacks. They are two storeys high with a twin gabled attic. Each house has one window on the first floor, which are 3-light casements, and small 2-light casements on the second floor. The ground floor has two modern shop windows flanking a doorway with a flat timber hood and a modern door. Inside No 16, there is a beam with a 3-inch chamfer and a tongue and scroll stop. The fireplace has a chamfered timber lintel, and there is a winder stair adjacent to the stack, which is now blocked at ceiling level.
