Description

Dated 1696, 28 and 30 Horse Street are a pair of buildings constructed of rubble with a modern tiled roof. The buildings have two storeys and originally three windows. The first floor features one and two-light timber casement windows. The ground floor has square bays added in the late 19th century; No. 30 is separate and has a tiled pitched roof, while No. 28 has an extended tiled pitched roof which incorporates both entrances. A four-panelled door is set within a chamfered stone surround at No. 30, and No. 28 has a plank door fitted with simple cast-iron strap hinges. The interior of No. 30 includes chamfered beams, a good winder stair, late 17th/early 18th century doors, and a salt/spice cupboard to the right of the fireplace.
