Description
Nos 16-18 on Church Street are a row of houses built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. They are constructed from handmade brick, some of which is painted, and feature a plain tiled roof with a central brick ridge stack. The buildings are single storey with an attic, which includes dormers, and have a dentilled eaves cornice. The row consists of three bays for each house. The ground floor openings have cambered heads.
No 16 has two modern single-light windows on the ground floor, three gabled dormers with 2-light 19th-century casements, and a glazed modern door located in the left bay. No 17 features a 2-light 19th-century casement, a modern single-light casement, and a 2-light modern casement that has been inserted into a blocked archway with a cambered head on the ground floor. Above, there are three gabled dormers with 2-light casements, and a partly-glazed modern door is situated in the right bay.
