Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on Abbey Street in Cerne Abbas. The house has brick walls laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof featuring gable ends. A rebuilt brick stack is visible at the left-hand gable. The front of the building has three windows on each floor, with sashes containing thin glazing bars and cills. The windows are framed by gauged brick voussoirs. A front door, which is panelled with two upper lights and a 20th-century design, is situated on the right-hand side of the ground floor, flanked by dressed stone jambs. Above the door is a fanlight shaped like a stilted and depressed arch, with glazing-bars. The building was formerly listed as part of a pair of houses located 15 yards north of the church.
