Description

No. 6 Abbey Street is an attached cottage that dates from the late 16th century, although it has been significantly altered and refashioned in the 20th century. The building features rubble-stone and brick walls, with an upper storey that jetties out and is plastered. It has a thatched roof with a gable end and a brick stack located at the center of the ridge. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows; on the first floor, there is a 19th-century wooden casement window with glazing bars on the right, alongside two 20th-century wooden casement windows with lead lights. The ground floor features a central three-light wooden casement window. The front door, located on the left, has tall recessed panels and a single light, also from the 20th century. To the right, there are two-leaf plank garage doors.
