Description
No. 17 Abbey Street is a house attached to No. 15, dating from the early 18th century. It features flint brick and rubble walls that are plastered and painted pink. The roof is a mansard style with a gable end on the left side and hipped on the right, with stone slates on the north hip. The building has two storeys and dormers, with three windows consisting of 12-pane sashes that have glazing bars and flush frames. There are coupled sashes to the right of the doorway. Above the doorway is a Venetian window, which has its tympanum filled in and barred to resemble a fanlight. The front door, located to the left of centre, is round-headed and flanked by fluted pilasters that support an open pediment. The door itself is a fielded-panel design.
