Description

The gateway to the churchyard, located immediately south-east of Cerne Abbey, dates from the mid-17th century and may have been reset from another location. It features moulded stone jambs with wave and ovolo profiles, along with moulded imposts and a moulded semi-circular head. A gabled stone canopy crowns the structure, adorned with three obelisk finials positioned at the left and right ends, as well as in the center. On either side of the gateway, there is a semi-circular niche with a shell head, and a stone bench is present on each side.
