Description
No. 15 Abbey Street is an attached former abbey tenement that has been converted into a private house. It dates from the early 16th century and was refashioned in the 19th century. The building features a stone plinth and half-timbered walls that are plastered and roughcast, painted white. There is stone corbelling at the left-hand end, which indicates a former painted wall. The upper storey jetties out, supported by one carved wooden post and brace. The roof is made of stone slate with a gable end on the left side, and there are brick stacks at both gables. The house has two storeys and three windows on the ground floor, which include a 3-light and a 4-light wooden casement. On the first floor, there are two 2-light wooden casements with glazing bars. The front door, located to the left of centre, is a plank door with a moulded wood frame from the 19th century.
