Description
The Old Farmhouse is a detached former farmhouse, now functioning as a cottage. It dates from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. The building features random chalk rubble, flint rubble, and banded brick walls, with large stone blocks forming the plinth and rough stone quoins. The roof is thatched with gable ends. There are 18th-century brick stacks located at the left gable, on the ridge to the right of center, and at the right gable, with a straight-joint towards the right end. The structure is 1½ storeys high and has three to four windows. The ground floor includes three-light stone mullions that are hollow-chamfered and have separate labels. There are four eyebrow dormers with two-light wood casements. The front door, located at the left center, has stone jambs and an elliptical brick arch, while a stable-type door from the 20th century is also present. The rear wing displays banded masonry and features a 20th-century front door in the angle.
