Description

No. 31 High Street is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th century, with 20th-century alterations to the ground floor windows. The building features rubble-stone and flint walls, with a chalk block upper storey. It has a thatched roof with gable ends and brick stacks at the gable ends that were added in the 19th century. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows on the ground floor, which are 20th-century metal casements with glazing bars, set on concrete cills and lintels. The first floor has three windows, including a 3-light, a 2-light, and another 3-light wood casement, all with horizontal glazing bars. The front door is centrally located, flush-panelled with two top lights, and dates from the 19th century, featuring flush-panelled reveals.
