Description

No. 8 High Street is an attached cottage dating from the 18th century, with some restoration from the 20th century. The cottage has rubble-stone walls that are rendered and painted pink. It features a hipped thatch roof at the left end and a rendered stack on the right party wall. The building is two storeys high and has two windows on the upper floor, which are 2-light wood casements with horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor windows are fitted with 20th-century wood shutters that are planked and have strap hinges. The front door, located at the centre, is a plank door dating from the 19th century. There is a hipped thatch porch canopy supported by wooden posts, with 20th-century trelliswork sides.
