Description

No. 27 Benville Lane is a detached cottage dating from the 18th century, with some restoration carried out in the 20th century. The building features brick and rubble-stone walls, accented by brick quoins and a stone plinth. It has a thatched roof with stone gable copings and includes one brick chimney stack on the left gable and one stone chimney stack at the right front gable, both from the 18th century. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows in each range, which are 2-light wooden casements from the 20th century, complete with wooden cills. The entrance consists of a plank wooden door set within stone jambs, dating from the 19th century.
