Description
Knapp Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse located on Benville Lane. It features rubble-stone walls with stone quoins and a continuous string course above the ground floor windows. The roof is made of Roman tiles and has gable ends, with one rendered brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and has windows with three and four lights, made of stone mullions with ovolos. The iron casements have lead lights, and there are also 20th-century metal casements. There is no front door, but a 20th-century porch is located at the rear. Inside, there is a deep-chamfered ceiling beam with filleted stops and a slightly ovolo profile. To the right of the farmhouse is an attached cottage and stable, which also have rubble-stone walls and are rendered. The stable has a patent tile roof and is two storeys high, featuring two windows with 20th-century metal casements and a door on the right side with a segmental brick arch above.
