Description
Uphall Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th century. It features coursed rubble-stone walls and a slate roof, which has stone gable copings and moulded kneelers. The cottage has 19th-century brick stacks at the gable ends, adorned with dog-tooth cornices. It is two storeys high and has three windows that are three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, and a two-light window above the front door. The wooden cills and lintels are also from the 19th century. The front door is centrally located, made of planks in a wooden frame, with one glass light, dating to the 19th century. To the left of the cottage is a brick outbuilding constructed in Flemish bond with burnt headers and a hipped slate roof, featuring a 20th-century plank door on the front wall. A 20th-century brick addition on the right end is noted as not being of special interest.
