Description

Benville Bridge is an early 19th-century road bridge featuring a single-span brick arch with projecting brick keystones. The bridge has brick parapet walls topped with stone coping, and the parapets are slightly splayed. An iron plaque is set into the southern parapet, stating: "DORSET. Any person wilfully injuring any part of this County Bridge will be guilty of Felony and upon conviction liable to be transported for life. By the Court T Fooks, 7&8 Geo 4 C30 S13."
