Description

Slough Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dated 1855, located in Rampisham. It features rubble-stone walls with ashlar stone quoins and a chamfered stone plinth. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with boxed eaves. There is a cluster of four rendered stacks set diagonally on the ridge, positioned to the right of the center. The building is two storeys high and has four windows on the ground floor, which include three-light straight-chamfered stone mullions with quirked surrounds and two-light mullions of the same design above. All windows are fitted with cast-iron casements that have a lozenge pattern of iron glazing bars, and each window has a separate label above it.

The porch is located at the right end of the north wall and is constructed of rubble-stone with ashlar quoins. It has a slate roof with stone gable coping, moulded kneelers, a moulded apex block, and a squashed ball finial. The porch features a four-centred archway, which is dated on the lintel, and has a separate label above. The inner doorway has the same surround and head as the porch. The original 19th-century door is a six flush-panelled design. At the rear of the house, there is an original one-storey outhouse with a pentice slate roof and a three-light casement that matches the north front. The back doorway is similar to the front.
