Description

A detached farmhouse dating from the mid-19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble-stone walls with clay tile roofs featuring gable ends and stone gable copings. A stone stack remains at the right-hand gable, while a stack at the left-hand gable has been removed. The front elevation has six openings to the ground floor, comprising windows and doorways in a window-door-window-window-door-window arrangement. Most windows are 3-light, with one being a single-light design, featuring hollow-chamfered stone mullions and labels above. The windows have cast-iron casements with a lozenge pattern of glazing bars. A gabled 2-storey porch is situated to the left of the centre, and a gabled dormer is located at the right-hand end, both featuring 2-light mullion windows under the gable. The porch doorway has a depressed arch within a square head, featuring recessed spandrels, and is accessed by a plank-and-muntin door with strap hinges, both dating to the 19th century. A doorway to the right of the centre is of the same design with a similarly styled door. A long rear range, formerly used as stabling and outbuildings, is of particular interest and includes three 3-light cast-iron casements with lozenge cast-iron glazing-bars, alongside two-leaf plank doors.
