Description
No. 1 Fore Street is a former public house, now an attached house, dating from the early 19th century, with possibly an earlier core. It features stone walls that are roughcast and has a brown concrete tile roof with a gable end on the left side. There is a renewed 20th-century brick stack on the left gable. The building has two storeys and five windows, with 2- and 3-light wood casements on the ground floor. To the immediate right of the front door is an original segmental bow window that has a dentil cornice. The first floor contains 2-light iron casements with lead lights from the 19th century. The front door, which is positioned left of centre, is flush-panelled with two top lights and features a small bracketed wood canopy above. There is also a plank door at the right end, accompanied by a leaded-light window beside it.
