Description
No. 14 on Fore Street is a former saddlery that has been converted into an attached cottage. It dates from the early 17th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The building features stone and chalk-block walls that are roughcast, and it has a thatched roof. There is a brick chimney stack on the left-hand gable. The structure is two storeys high and has three windows. On the ground floor, there are two square bay windows with two doorways in between them. The fixed windows have glazing bars and a continuous moulded cornice above. The first floor includes two-light cast-iron casements with glazing bars. The entrance to No. 14 has a plank door with two top lights, which is a 20th-century addition in a traditional style. To the immediate right of this door is another entrance with a flush-panelled door that has a glazed top half, dating from the 19th century and altered.
