Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the early 17th century and has undergone significant refashioning and extensions at the rear during the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features rubble-stone walls with stone ashlar quoins and a slate roof that is hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. It has parallel ridges and a rear wing extending to the southeast.
The structure is two storeys high and has three windows. On the right side, there is a canted bay with two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullions on each face, and a continuous string-course running between the storeys. The windows are fitted with iron casements that have lead lights and single panes. To the left of the bay, there is a four-light ovolo-moulded mullion window, while the first floor features two additional two-light windows of the same style.
The front door, located on the left side, has moulded stone jambs and a depressed-arch head, with a plank door that is secured with strap-hinges. Above the door, there is a returned label with lozenge stops. The rear range includes cast-iron casements and two-light wood casements.
