Description
Uphall Farmhouse is a mid-17th century building that has undergone some 19th century changes to its windows. The structure features walls made of rubble stone and chalk blocks, topped with a thatched roof that has a gable end on the left side and a catslide on the right. There is a brick chimney stack on the left gable, which is also the original gable. The farmhouse is 1½ storeys tall.
On the east elevation, there are five to six windows with irregular spacing. To the left on the ground floor, there is a two-light stone mullion window with an ovolo profile, while the remaining windows are 20th century two-light metal casements that likely fit into the original openings. The building has three eyebrow dormers with wooden casements.
The front door is located on the west elevation, slightly right of center. It is a 19th century plank door with a wooden lintel above and brick jambs, and it is sheltered by a porch with a pentice roof. At the north end, there are two-leaf plank doors that were formerly a carriage entrance.
