Description
The Post Office is a detached cottage, originally two separate buildings, dating from the early 18th century. It has undergone 20th-century changes, particularly in its windows, which are mainly in original openings. The walls are constructed of rubble stone and chalk block, and they are painted. The roof is thatched and hipped at both ends, with brick stacks located at the left ridge and to the right of the center. The building has one and a half storeys and features four windows, which are three-light metal casements from the 20th century, complete with glazing bars, and two-light dormers above. The front door, positioned to the right of center, is a 19th-century plank door. There is a substantial painted brick porch with a hipped thatch roof, also from the 19th century. Additionally, there is a plank door to the left of center, topped with a wooden lintel, and plank doors leading to a carriage entrance at the left end of the building.
