Description
Ford Glen Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 18th century. It features rubble-stone walls and a hipped roof covered with Roman tiles. There is a brick chimney stack at the center of the ridge. The cottage has two storeys and three windows, which include three-light and two-light wooden casements with a horizontal glazing bar. The wooden lintels and cills add to its character. The front door, located to the right of center, is wooden with recessed panels and dates from the 20th century.
Inside, the cottage has heavy ceiling beams that may have been re-set. The left-hand room includes a large open fireplace with a high wooden lintel and a bread oven. There is a doorcase and a staircase located in the corner by the fireplace. A small 20th-century extension has been added to the south gable end, constructed with the same materials and featuring one window.
