Description
Manor Farmhouse is a detached house with a 16th-century core, extensively remodelled in the 18th century, and incorporating an addition dating to the 17th century. The house is constructed of rubble-stone walls with ashlar quoins. The roofs are slate, with stone slate eaves, sections with concrete tile roofs, a gable-end at the right-hand end, and a hipped front. Brick stacks are situated on the gable ends and on the rear gable. The property has two storeys. The west range features two windows facing the front, and two windows on the return side. This range exhibits three-light stone mullion windows with separate labels. The east range has two- and three-light windows of the same style. The windows are fitted with iron casements and 20th-century metal casements with lead lights. The return range contains 18th-century sash windows with glazing bars. A stone porch is located centrally on the west range, featuring ashlar facing, stone gable-coping, and a gabled slate roof. A plank door with strap-hinges, dating to the mid-19th century, is set within the porch. A 19th-century dairy and cheese-loft is located at the left-hand end, constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof. This extension has a brick porch and a plank door. Inside the west range, the ceiling is divided into 16 compartments with moulded beams, dating to the 16th century, and there is a 17th-century open fireplace.
