Description
Palmer's Cottage, formerly the Old School, is a building from the 18th century that has been converted into a private house with an attached cottage. The structure features rubble-stone and chalk-block walls that are rendered and painted white for Palmer's Cottage. The roof is thatched, gabled on the left side and hipped on the right. There are brick stacks located at the left gable and at the center of the ridge, and the building is 1½ storeys high. It has a total of five windows, arranged as two on one side and three on the other, with two-light wood casements that include glazing bars, dating from the 20th century. The entrances include a 20th-century door for the Old School located at the right end under a pentice roof, a stable door on the front elevation also from the 20th century, and a central plank door for Palmer's Cottage, which is also from the 20th century. A thatch porch canopy supported by wooden posts is present at the entrance.
