Description

No. 3 High Street is an attached former farmhouse, originally listed as The Bakery. It features a datestone dated 1733 on a lozenge panel above the doorway, although it has an earlier 17th-century core. The building is constructed from knapped flint and chalk-block walls that are banded, with stone quoins. It has a Ham stone string and a modillion stone cornice. The north gable wall is made of brick in the upper storey. The roof is covered with clay tiles and has stone slab eaves, with brick stacks at the gable ends. The farmhouse is two storeys high and includes dormers. There are three windows with regular spacing, featuring three-light stone mullions with ovolos and a two-light window above the front door. The iron casements have tension bars and a single glass pane in each. The front door, which is a plank door with two upper lights, has a string that returns upwards over it and is a 20th-century addition.
