Description
No. 2 Sun Street is a farmhouse dating from around 1670. It is constructed of coursed clunch with a plain tiled roof that features a small ridge and end stack. The building has a moulded eaves cornice made of clunch, accented by a band of saw tooth ornament in brick. The gable end has a parapet supported by kneelers. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with attics, although the dormers have been removed. It is framed by rusticated pilasters and divided by a plain band. On the first floor, there are four early 19th-century hung sash windows, each with twelve panes. The ground floor has three similar windows. The entrance features an early 19th-century door with six panels and a flat hood above it. Inside, the house includes a cellar. The main beams in the floor frame have ovolo moulding, and there is an original closed-string staircase with four flights, which has flat section twisted balusters, a moulded rail, and square newel posts.
