Description

Lavender Cottage is a former service range to Rocks farmhouse, now functioning as an attached cottage. It dates from the early 19th century and features banded flint, stone, and random rubble walls, with brick quoins. The cottage has a thatched roof, with an abutting gable wall on the left and a gabled end on the right. It is 1½ storeys high and has four windows, which are two-light wood casements with glazing bars, although these have been renewed in the 20th century. The front door, located to the right of center, is glass-panelled and also a 20th-century addition. There is a porch with rubble stone and glazed sides, topped with a pentice tile roof, which is a 20th-century feature as well.
