Description
Brimley Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that dates back to the early 17th century. Originally converted into two cottages, it has since been returned to a single dwelling. The building features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof, which has stone gable-coping on the left side and is hipped on the right. There are two brick stacks, one at the left gable and another on the right ridge.
The farmhouse is 1½ storeys high and has four windows on the ground floor. These include a 4-light stone mullion window with hollow-chamfers, which has a separate label above it, and another 4-light stone mullion window with square sections and architraves from the 18th century. On the first floor, there are eyebrow dormers featuring 3- and 4-light wooden casements with straight-chamfered wooden mullions and frames, dating to around the 17th century.
The front door, located to the left of center, is a plank door with two glass lights. At the rear, there is an outshut with a catslide thatch roof. A cast-iron lozenge light casement from a former dairy is also present. The rear of the outshut has a lower pitch and is covered with a corrugated-iron roof.
