Description

Brimley House is a detached house dated 1734, as indicated by a datestone over the front door. It is constructed of brick walls in a burnt header bond, set upon a stone plinth. The window and quoins are red brick. The roof is slate, with parallel ridges, and contains 20th-century brick stacks on the left and right-hand gables. The house follows a double-pile plan, with two storeys and attics. It has five windows, each a sash window with glazing-bars. The window heads feature gauged brickwork. A rendered plat-band runs between the two storeys. The stone doorway has a moulded architrave. The wooden front door has fielded panels and two top lights, characteristic of the 18th century. Inside, there are fielded-panel window shutters and dentil cornices.
