Description
Chapel Hayes and Lady Hay are two attached cottages dating from the 18th century, which have undergone significant renovation in the 20th century. The cottages feature dressed stone walls and a thatch roof adorned with decorative block-ridging and stone gable-coping on the right side. There are 20th-century brick stacks located at the left gable, center, and right gable. The buildings are 1½ and 2 storeys high, with 3-light wooden casements that include lead lights, also from the 20th century, and wooden cills. Three eyebrow dormers are present on the roof. The front door of Chapel Hayes, positioned left of center, is a plank-and-muntin style from the 20th century, complemented by a thatch porch canopy. Lady Hay uses the same materials and features 20th-century 2-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, wooden cills, and stone arch-voussoirs above. Its door, also left of center, is a plank door from the 20th century.
