Description

The cottages, Barges Cottage and Gladwyn Cottage, are located in Litton Cheney village and date from around the 18th century, with alterations in the 19th century that included raising the eaves. They are attached to Randell Cottage. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with a slate and thatched roof. A brick stack is visible at the left-hand gable. The cottages have two storeys and three windows, featuring two-light wooden casements with glazing bars. Wooden cills are present, and the windows are topped with segmental brick arches. A 19th-century plank door is centrally located, set within a wooden frame and a segmental brick arch. The left-hand bay is thatched and has a two-light wooden casement with lead lights at the first floor. A plank door is also present at the right-hand ground floor.
