Description
Barges Farmhouse is a farmhouse that is attached to cottages and is dated 1707. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatch roof, with a brick stack on the left side and a stone stack on the right party wall. The building has two storeys and three windows, which are three-light casements with wooden and cast-iron glazing bars and wooden cills. There are segmental brick arches over the ground floor windows. The front door, which is made of planks and dates from the 20th century, is centrally located and has a wooden frame with a segmental brick arch above it. A 20th-century bracketed wooden canopy is positioned over the door. The left end of the building has rubble-stone construction with a slate roof and also features two storeys. It includes a wooden casement with glazing bars and a plank door from the 19th century. A stream flows under this extension, suggesting it may have been extended for milling purposes.
