Description

No. 17, Dorchester Road is an 18th-century detached cottage with a gable end facing the road. It is constructed of rubble stone walls, which have been rendered and painted brown. The roof is thatched, with a hipped section on the left and a gabled section on the right, terminating in a hipped end facing the road. A 20th-century brick stack is located on the rear gable. The cottage has two storeys and three windows, each with iron and wood casements featuring rectangular lead lights and wooden sills. A 20th-century plank front door is positioned to the left of the centre, sheltered by a rendered porch with a thatched canopy. The return range is not considered to be of special architectural interest.
