Description

Frampton House is a service wing of the former Frampton Court, now divided into two private residences. It dates to the early 19th century. The building is constructed of ashlar stone walls, using Portland stone, with brick walls on the north side, which was originally within the courtyard. It features a moulded stone cornice surmounted by a low parapet and a pediment at the centre. The roof is slate and hipped at both ends, with three stone chimney stacks along the ridge; two are west of the pediment, and one to the east. The building is two storeys high and originally comprised nine bays. The windows have moulded stone architraves and sash windows with glazing-bars, and stone sills. A moulded archway is positioned at the centre, now blocked with ashlar. An inverted doorway, with a moulded architrave and cornice, contains a 20th-century four-panel door. The present entrance to the east end is via a stuccoed rear wing, which features a 20th-century panelled door. The east elevation of the house is three bays wide, with sash windows having glazing-bars.
