Description
The Church of St Mary is a parish church located on Dorchester Road in Frampton. It features a chancel arch and south arcade from the 15th century. The west tower was rebuilt in 1695 by Robert Browne, who also added the north aisle and vestry. The chancel was reconstructed in 1747-1748. The church underwent extensive restorations and rebuildings in the 19th century, with the chancel being rebuilt in 1862, the south aisle in 1871, and the north arcade between 1873 and 1879, during which the aisle was reconditioned and a parapet was added. B. Ferrey was the architect responsible for some of this work. The church has a porch and vestry from the 19th century. It is constructed with local rubble walls and freestone dressings, while the south aisle is made of brick. The roofs are covered with slate.
