Description
Thatchcote is a pair of 18th-century cottages, now combined into a single house, originally part of Frampton Court. The house has rubble stone walls covered in roughcast and a thatched roof with gabled ends. There are roughcast chimney stacks on the ridge of the roof, one central and one to the right. The house is one and a half storeys high, with four windows containing 2-light wooden and metal casements, dating to the 20th century. The front wall has blocked-up doorways, marking the original separation of the two cottages. The main entrance is now located at the rear, in an east end extension, with a 20th-century plank stable-type door fitted with a single glass panel.
Attached to the west end is a small summer house, a cruciform structure with roughcast walls and clay-tile roofs. It features a shingle spire over the apex, painted white and topped with a ball finial. A square bay window on the west side of the summer house has fixed glazing bars. Inside the summer house, the ceiling is ornamented with a star-shaped pattern of bamboo.
