Description

Nos. 31 and 32 on Dorchester Road are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, likely with earlier elements. They feature walls made of flint and stone in a banded pattern. No. 31 has a thatched roof that is hipped at the right end, while No. 32 has a concrete tile roof with a gable end at the left. Both cottages are 2 and 1½ storeys tall, with No. 31 having two windows and No. 32 having three.

No. 31 has 2-light iron casements with lead lights, along with wooden cills and lintels. In contrast, No. 32 features 2- and 3-light wooden casements with brick dressings, also with wooden cills and lintels. Notably, No. 32 has gabled dormers adorned with moulded barge-boards and strutting. The front door of No. 31 is located at the right front and is a plank door with one glass light, dating from the 20th century, and it has a plank porch with a clay tile roof. The door for No. 32 is situated on the left end wall, also a plank door with one glass light, but this one dates from the 19th century.
