Description

These are a pair of buildings at numbers 39 and 40 Coombe Street, likely dating from the mid-19th century and built after 1844. They project forward from number 38. The buildings are three storeys high, with a single window bay and a separate outer doorway on each side. They have a slate gabled roof and a stuccoed front. The windows are sash windows: those on the first and second floors have three panes, while the ground-floor windows have four panes. The ground and first-floor windows have slightly cambered head linings. The doorways are plain, with ledged reveals, and contain six-panelled doors with the upper four panels glazed. Numbers 35, 37 to 40, 40A and 41 form a group.
