Description

These are a row of six early 19th-century buildings on Temple Street, numbers 42 to 48 (even). They are two storeys high and have a stucco façade, with a decorative band separating the floors. The buildings have a steeply pitched slate roof and a moulded wooden eaves cornice.

Numbers 44 and 46 share the same ownership. Number 42 has two windows on the first floor, with recessed sash windows and intact glazing bars; the ground floor has two windows, one lacking an architrave and deeply recessed. The side elevation of Number 42 features two round-headed windows with marginal glazing and a doorway.

Number 44 has a Victorian shop front with a rectangular bay window, and a recessed house door consisting of six flush panels, four of which are glazed, topped with a rectangular fanlight. Number 48 has a small, canted wooden bay on a rendered base, featuring a frieze and cornice, a recessed door with two flush panels and two round-headed glazed panels, and a tent-shaped canopy porch supported by three columns.

Number 44 has one window blocked. The side elevation of Number 42 includes two round-headed windows with marginal glazing and a doorway.
