Description

This is a three-storey building with a basement, likely dating from the mid-19th century, constructed after 1844. It has a slate gabled roof and a stuccoed facade. The second floor features two paired sash windows. A splayed bay window is located on the left-hand side, extending across the first floor and entrance level. This bay window includes sash windows with margin lights in each pane, and a fixed window below at ground floor level. A flight of six steps, flanked by an iron rail, leads up to the entrance doorway, which has a simple architrave surround, plain reveals, a half-glazed door, and a rectangular fanlight above. At the right-hand end, a segmental arch provides access to George’s Court, with sash windows and margin lights above on the first floor. The building forms a group with numbers 35, 37 to 40, 40A, and 41.
