Description

No. 43 on West Street is a shop and attached house built in the late 19th century. The building features coursed rubble-stone walls and slate roofs with gable ends and projecting eaves. There are 19th-century brick stacks at each gable of the house. The shop is a single storey, while the house has two storeys. The shop window is a sash type with glazing bars, a wide wooden frame, and a roller-blind box. To the immediate right of the shop window is a plank door from the 19th century. The house has three windows across the front, featuring 3-light cast-iron casements with glazing bars, wooden cills, and segmental brick arches. The upper windows are of 2-lights, and the central plank front door has one glass light above it, with a segmental brick arch overhead.
