Description
Nos. 2 and 3 Tanyard are two attached cottages dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The cottages have rubble-stone walls with brick re-facing at the north end and a thatched roof that is hipped at both the north and south ends. There are 18th-century brick stacks located at the north hip, one ridge stack left of center, and another ridge stack right of center. The buildings are two storeys high and have a total of seven windows, featuring 2-light cast-iron casements with glazing bars, wooden frames, and wooden sills. The ground floor windows are set very low.
For the entrances, No. 2 has a plank door with one glass light located on the rear wall, which is a 20th-century addition, and it features a pentice-roofed wooden porch. No. 3 has a plank door positioned left of center on the front wall, dating from the 19th century, as well as another plank door on the north end wall that has a moulded weatherboard and wooden frame. At the rear, there is a slate-roofed outshut.
