Description
Nos 30 and 31 on West Street are two attached cottages, originally three, dating from the mid-18th century and restored in the 20th century. They feature rubble-stone walls and rubble plinths, with a straight joint between the two cottages. The thatch roof has a gable end and half-hip, with lower eaves on No 30. There are 19th-century brick stacks on the left-hand gable and the party wall. The cottages are two storeys high and have five windows; No 30 has two-light wooden casements with glazing bars, wooden cills, and lintels, while No 31 has three-light wooden casements with fixed lead lights in the upper windows. Each cottage has a plank door located approximately at the centre; No 30's door is from the 20th century, while No 31's door is also from the 20th century and features one glass light with a segmental brick arch above.
