Description

Nos. 2 and 3 Upper Severn Terrace are two cottages dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, which were remodeled in the early 19th century. The rear of the cottages features exposed timber framing, while the front is constructed from squared and coursed sandstone with brick dressings. They have gabled roofs covered with plain tiles and a brick ridge stack added in the 19th century.

Each cottage has a two-room layout and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. The front features segmental brick arches above a 19th-century plank door for No. 2 and a 20th-century door for No. 3. No. 2 has an early 19th-century two-light cross-window, while No. 3 has a similar window from the mid-20th century. Both cottages have 19th-century two-light windows on the first floor, complete with wrought-iron fittings.

At the rear, there are two early 19th-century casements and one fixed-light four-pane casement. Inside No. 3, there are early 19th-century panelled doors, a cased beam, and an open fireplace with a moulded wood architrave and a cast-iron range. The interior of No. 2 has not been inspected.
