Description
Nos 63 (Haven Cottage) and 64 Ulwell Road is a building that was formerly one house, featuring an L-shaped plan. The main block, which adjoins the road, dates from the 17th century, while the rear wing is likely from the 18th century. The main block has walls made of Purbeck stone, incorporating some ironstone, and a Purbeck stone roof, along with brick stacks. It is one storey high with attics. The central doorway has a part-glazed door, and there is one three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould, as well as one timber casement window with a brick arch. The building features two half-dormers in the attic, each with pent roofs and casement windows, and two buttresses on the front wall. The rear wing has brick walls and a Purbeck stone roof, with a brick stack and casement windows on both the ground and first floors. The overall appearance is picturesque.
