Description

Stone Court, located at 16 Bell Street, is probably an 18th-century building with an L-shaped plan. The main section, set back from the street, features walls and a roof made of Purbeck Stone, along with a brick stack that has a projecting stone capping. The building is two storeys high with attics. The ground floor includes a modern door and a double-hung sash window beneath an arch. Above this, on the first floor, there is another double-hung sash window. To the north of the door, there is a two-storeyed canted bay window with double-hung sashes that have glazing bars. The attic contains a dormer with a hipped roof and a casement window. A projecting stone band course separates the ground and first floors.

The southern section of the building, which is adjacent to the road, is also two storeys tall. The lower storey is constructed of Purbeck Stone, while the upper storey is made of brick, featuring Purbeck Stone quoins. This section has a slate roof and a brick stack. The ground floor has a two-light double-hung sash window beneath a stone arch, and the first floor has two double-hung sash windows. There is a stone boundary wall along the street.
