Description
Globe Cottage is a late 18th to early 19th century building located on Bell Street. It features Purbeck stone walls and roof, with brick stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has a double-pile layout with a central valley gutter, positioned at right angles to the street.
On the Bell Street side, there are two large openings with double ledged doors on the ground floor, and above them, two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. The south elevation, which faces down the street, includes a single-storey roofed lean-to addition. This side also has two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor and a projecting timber porch that is accessed by an external stair. There is a lean-to addition on the north side, featuring a shuttered window, and a stone boundary wall surrounds the property.
